From Melbourne to Glasgow: Radio Free Alice rocked King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut
Written by Chloe Buckley
It was a chilly Thursday night in Glasgow when walking to the legendary King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut from Charing Cross ahead of Radio Free Alice playing a sold out gig. All the way from Melbourne, Australia, RFA heated up the Glasgow venue in what was an unreal gig.
RFA are an upcoming band who are rapidly gaining followers and listeners thanks to their great indie rock music. With a few EP’s under their belt, they visited the United Kingdom for a sold out headline gig.
Stopping off at one of Glasgow’s most historic venues, RFA certainly earned their spot on the iconic Wah Wah Hut stairs for 2025.
They opened the set with their latest single ‘Empty Words’ which had the crowd captivated from the beginning.
Due to their shorter discography, every song from the four-piece felt like a hit. Chants for ‘Johnny’ were constant between songs, so when they played it, the crowd went wild.
They closed with a cover of ‘Damaged Goods’ by Gang of Four. It was a unique choice to round out the show, but not one that was questioned. It was full of punk rock energy and ended the night on a high.
The set lasted just under an hour. It may sound short, but it was packed with 13 songs, all of which kept the atmosphere buzzing.
Radio Free Alice are truly a band to watch out for. Their rapid growth shows they have what it takes to take over the indie scene. And live, they are a band you have to see.
