Limerence formed in 2024 with Jade Campbell on vocals and Naomi Pearson on guitar, before recruiting bassist Jakob Archibald and drummer David O’Rourke. Since then, the band have played several gigs across Glasgow and surrounding areas, performing covers and original material.
Now, the group have released their debut single, ‘She Bites’. It’s a sharp, punchy two-minute track that does what it says on the tin.
The track begins with a quiet guitar riff and static, before introducing a steady groove of driving guitars and drums to accompany Campbell’s vocals that progressively build intensity and volume throughout the track.
By the first hook, the pace picks up and the band’s punk influences become more apparent. Each member gets a chance to shine, with Pearson’s guitar work standing out, especially in the short solo section towards the end of the song.
For a debut single, Limerence sound remarkably confident. ‘She Bites’ showcases the band’s raw energy and chemistry which definitely signals plenty of potential is still to come. If ‘She Bites’ is anything to go by, Limerence are a band worth keeping an eye on as they continue to make waves in Glasgow’s music scene.
You can catch Limerence live in Glasgow on 19th July for their headline gig at King Tut’s Summer Nights!
