Kasabian: A headliner that was worth the wait

Kasabian rounding out their incredible set at TRNSMT 2026
Kasabian are a band that has been around for as long as anyone can remember. A band you will hear your Dad talking about late at night when he's reminiscing about his youth and longing to experience it again. A band that you will definitely hear and see when he’s a few pints down and has got the live performances on full blast. As they get ready for their tour, Kasabian hit Glasgow Green first at TRNSMT for a headline set that was one to remember.
Following a long line of bands that didn't really seal the deal the stage was in fact ready for Kasabian to blow people's minds.
Everyone was waiting around at half-past eight at night trying to aimlessly scramble and secure a good spot for Kasabian. The stage getting set up with the endless list of instruments getting placed, the wait was almost up. Then appeared the 10-minute countdown. It was only a matter of time until the band came along and rattled Glasgow Green with their electrifying music.
From there, Kasabian blasted their music across Glasgow, Sergio Pizzorno, former guitarist and now frontman of the band, had complete control over everyone. From the minute he stepped out on stage he had everyone hooked from the moment they opened with ‘Club Foot’ swiftly followed by ‘Call’ and ‘Hippie Sunshine’.
Their performance was life changing and had the entire field bouncing to the sound of the music. Pizzorno had complete control at this point. He could do whatever he wanted as if it was his playground. He had the whole crowd split into left and right and managed to interact with the full crowd, taking turns making each side sing whenever he felt like creating some sort of competition and was even able to get hundreds of people on shoulders for ‘You’re in Love with a Psycho’.
As the headliner went on, the crowd did not stop. There were moshpits everywhere, everyone was lively and no one wanted it to end. Looking around, everyone you saw was hooked like they were having the best time of their lives. As well as the fact he made the most immaculate transitions of top hits songs into his own such as using the beat and intro to ‘Not Like Us’ by Kendrick Lamar blended into the song ‘treat’ by Kasabian.
Near the end of the set, the band left the stage and everything just went off. Glasgow Green booed as they thought they were finished without playing ‘Fire’, one of their biggest hits. Little did we know they were not finished with Glasgow. Three songs later and the ‘Fire’ intro blasted across the city. You could feel the music and beets pulsating through your body as they rocked the stage and the crowd went mental.
Everyone started jumping again and was ready to make the most of this last song. Pizzorno shook Glasgow with everyone screaming every lyric. It was electrifying to watch everyone truly feeling the music. He began to announce to the crowd: “Every time we play here, it gets better and better.”
Although this was Kasabian's first stop on their tour, they made an unbelievable and amazing start to it. A memorable one for all and they will most likely continue to electrify stadiums and fields for the months to come as an unbelievable group of people who know exactly how to keep a crowd hooked.
